Training

We believe in the importance of obedience and socialization, and that the joys you'll experience by having a well trained dog are extremely rewarding.

Be assured that all of our training techniques are gentle and will foster a positive, trusting relationship between you and your dog. The class is designed for puppies and adult dogs, although the adult dog agenda will not focus on socializing. Puppies as young as ten weeks old may participate and are strongly encouraged to do so. This will build confidence and have social benefits that will last a lifetime, as critical socialization period for a dog ends on or before six months of age. The class is strictly for family pet training; we do not teach guide, guard, attack, or show dog techniques. In Puppy Power we will cover sit, down, come, stay, give, off, rules and guidelines, and hierarchy. We will discuss common behaviors and "puppy hood" survival tools as well as give insight on how dogs communicate. Family members and children over six years of age should be a part of this bonding experience and are an integral element of overall success.

To ensure optimum results with personal attention, the class is limited to no more than fifteen dogs. Our group class is five weeks long, one hour each week. The cost is $100.00 for the full five weeks. Week 5 will be a graduation ceremony at which time, upon passing, you and your dog will receive a completion certificate. To guarantee a reserved place in our next class, please complete and return your signed and dated registration form and enrollment deposit of$25.00. The balance of$75.00 will be due on our first class meeting. For your convenience, we gladly accept payment by cash, check, debit card, and all major credit cards.

Our class meetings will be held on either Tuesday or Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We will be meeting outdoors so please dress accordingly. Class is held in our back parking lot and restroom facilities will be available. Upon signing up, you will receive a copy of the class supplies list as well as additional information helpful to know before the first class meeting.
